A friend sent me an amazing short video the other day and it got me thinking about change.
What are the changes I am going to make today to become a better person, a better leader, more productive and more efficient?
And if I were to ask myself that question everyday, what impact would it have on my life, and the lives of those people around me?
Life for most people is busy busy busy. And more often than not we find ourselves being drawn into conversations and activities that do nothing to support our core strategies.
So for the next week I’m going to ask myself the following questions before I invest my time into a conversation, a meeting, activity or one of those endless teleconferences I keep getting invited too:
- Will this help me achieve my business or personal goals?
- Does it support those things that are important to me?
- Will it make me a better person?
My intuition tells me at least 50% of the meetings I attend will do none of the above, so get ready for some ruffled feathers this week.
I also suspect the same might be said of the TV I watch, unless I can argue that watching sport will make me a better person ?!
For those of you with a spare seven minutes, here is a link to the video that got me thinking in the first place. https://twitter.com/ldavidmarquet/status/576527914289618944.
