I have read a couple of articles recently about goal setting and it got me thinking about the goals I set for myself back in March 2015.
They were as follows;
- increase productivity,
- reduce stress,
- grow revenue and profit, and
- have fun
The good thing is that I am certainly making progress with all of theses.
However, one of the problems with goal setting is the more goals you have, the less focused you can get on achieving them all, as fully as you could, if you had a lesser number of goals.
But what if you want them all and they are all important for a full and balanced life. Life isn’t only about money, or only able fun, or only about family, or only about self.
Robin Sharma talks about it being smarter to do fewer things at genius, than many things at average – so maybe it is back to to priorities and balance. Or is it about defining your broader goal-set in the context of a singularly focused goal?
So I might do that today, and whilst I am at it revisit my thoughts on priorities from a few months ago (http://www.theadvisoryhub.com.au/priorities/).
